HAIK(E)U

As part of Mai de la Photo, Walden to Merzouga unfolded as a collective exhibition shaped by the philosophy
of simple living and inspired by Henry David Thoreau’s reflections on civil disobedience, solitude, and nature.
The show brought together multiple artistic voices around a shared desire
to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with the essential.
Within this gentle constellation, the photographic series haik(e)u offered a visual whisper—minimal, meditative, and attentive to the fleeting. Like a desert poem, each image held space for silence, for breath, for the ephemeral beauty of the unnoticed. The exhibition invited viewers to embrace a slower gaze, one where art resists speed and simplicity becomes a radical form of presence.

“Something unreal seeps into the reality of the recollections that are on the borderline between our own personal history and an indefinite pre-history, in the exact place, where, after us, the childhood home comes to life in us [...] [I]magination, memory and perception exchange functions. The image is created through co-operation between real and unreal.”

— Gaston Bachelard, The Poetics of Space

There is a kind of silence that only walking reveals. A rhythm, a breath. With each step, the world offers itself not as spectacle but as whisper—an unnoticed gesture, a flicker of shadow, a fleeting glint of light. In these in-between moments, a film camera becomes less a tool and more a companion.

Walking is not about arrival, but about presence. A slow ritual of observation, listening, and attunement. Through the lens of analog photography, the ephemeral is honored—the way morning light rests on a wall, the stillness of an abandoned path, the poetry of a street corner bathed in golden hour.

To shoot on film is to surrender to the unknown. No instant playback. No digital certainty. Just the weight of the camera, the grain of the film, and the patience to wait. Each frame becomes a trace of something once lived, now held in light and silver.

These images are not documents in the traditional sense,
but fragments of mood and atmosphere—visual echoes of
an inner world projected onto the outer one. Slow images. Tender. Imperfect. Human.

This growing archive is one of solitude and reverie. A quiet collection of analog photographs taken during unhurried walks, where seeing becomes a way of being. Each image is
a poem of the present—mapping what lingers between presence and absence, silence and sound, memory and moment.

In a world that rushes, this practice becomes a form of resistance. A soft dialogue with the world, carried by light
and time.

CARTOGRAPHY COLLECTION
“MORPHO”

Morpho signifies form, a symbol of transformation and metamorphosis. It is much more than a mere title; it’s an ode to form, an exploration of the beauty and significance that can be found in every line, every curve, every angle. It embodies the graphic plasticity of the landscape and invites us to delve into the beauty of shapes that surround us.
This project is a multidimensional piece merging scenography, photography, prose, and graphic design. This collection of books — a visual poetry book, a lens-captured odyssey, a sensitive map — is a homage to the artistic essence of travel journals as an editorial artistic medium. This graphic trip is a study of the sensitive cartography of the breathtaking Ait Boulli valley in a different way.

    COLLECTION
    “SEE”

The visual identity of the publishing house SEE is rooted in the art of framing—a concept borrowed from the world of photography, where every boundary becomes a window to a deeper narrative. Inspired by the way photographers compose their shots to reveal layers of meaning and emotion, the design embraces multiple points of view and plays with visual depth. Framing here is more than a technical choice; it becomes a metaphor for perspective, inviting readers to look closer, shift their gaze, and discover the unexpected.
This identity celebrates the interplay between structure and spontaneity, where every frame tells a story and every composition stands as a unique expression.

    AGITATEURS CRÉATIFS
    “SHOWTIME”

As part of the Agitateurs Créatifs exhibition at ESAV Marrakech, I collaborated with the Graphic Design department to bring the theme Show Time to life through a vibrant and cohesive visual narrative. Rooted in the spirit of collective creation, our work focused on crafting a bold visual identity, an intuitive signage system, and an engaging launch campaign that transformed Dar Bellarj into a stage for emerging artistic voices.
Inspired by the aesthetics of performance, backstage energy, and visual rhythm, we embraced dynamic compositions, theatrical color palettes, and expressive typography to evoke a sense of anticipation and presence. The exhibition became more than a space—it became a scene, an act, a pulse. Every element, from directional signs to promotional materials, was carefully designed to echo the excitement of “curtains up” and invite visitors into a playful, immersive journey through student creativity.
This collaborative experience was both a design challenge and a celebration of teamwork, where concept and context danced together to highlight the raw and radiant power of young creation.
    It’s showtime! It’s showtime! It’s showtime!

    NEWSLETTER

As part of my experience with Diptyk, I designed and structured a series of editorial newsletters to reflect the magazine’s unique voice and visual identity. Each issue was conceived as a digital extension of the print publication—curated to highlight featured artists, upcoming exhibitions, and critical reflections from the contemporary art scene in Morocco and beyond. My role combined content layout, typographic choices, and visual rhythm to ensure a seamless and engaging reading experience across devices. The goal was to preserve the magazine’s sharp editorial tone while offering readers a clear, refined, and visually coherent platform for discovery and dialogue.
